Job Purpose
The Regulatory Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring that the Bank complies with all applicable laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies. The role supports the monitoring of regulatory developments and ensures that the Bank’s operations align with requirements set by regulators, including the Bank of Mauritius and other relevant authorities.
Key Responsibilities
a. Monitor and interpret regulatory requirements, circulars, and guidelines issued by regulators.
b. Ensure the Bank’s policies, procedures, and operations remain compliant with regulatory frameworks.
c. Conduct regulatory gap analyses and recommend corrective actions.
d. Assist in preparing regulatory reports and submissions to regulators.
e. Maintain a regulatory register and track compliance obligations.
f. Support regulatory inspections and audits.
g. Provide compliance advice to business units on regulatory requirements.
h. Assist in the development and update of internal compliance policies and procedures.
i. Deliver compliance awareness training to staff.
Key Skills and Competencies
a. Strong knowledge of regulatory frameworks governing banks in Mauritius.
b. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
c. Strong written and verbal communication.
d. Ability to interpret legal and regulatory texts.
e. Attention to detail and high ethical standards.
Qualifications and Experience
a. Bachelor’s degree in Law, Finance, Risk Management, or related field.
b. Professional certification in compliance or risk management is desirable.
c. 3–5 years’ experience in compliance, risk, legal, or regulatory functions within the financial services sector.
