Description of the role:

As an Assistant Manager in the Accounting Team, you will support the delivery of accounting and financial reporting services to clients while ensuring compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. You will oversee the maintenance and delivery of accurate financial records, review the preparation of financial statements and other group reporting packages, and supervise junior team members in their deliveries and guide them through their personal development. You also contribute to improving efficiency of accounting processes and ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of accounting services. You will gain exposure to a variety of assignments and enhance your technical expertise.

Key responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients and oversee their accounting and financial reporting processes.
  • Supervise and mentor junior team members, reviewing their work and providing guidance to contribute to their personal development.
  • Review accounting positions, financial statements, and group reporting packages and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations.
  • Monitor deadlines and ensure all deliverables are met in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to deliver high-quality service to clients.
  • Liaise directly with clients and provide advisory support on accounting and financial matters.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders (Auditors, Tax Advisors).
  • Contribute to process improvements and implementation of best practices.
  • Support senior management in business development and client relationship management.
  • Participate in assignments across different industries, gaining valuable experience in the field.

Job specification

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum of 4–6 years of relevant experience in accounting or finance.
  • School leaver or holder of a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Fully or partly qualified professional certification (e.g., ACCA, ACA) is required.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
  • A commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Fluent in English and French.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude and a collaborative mindset.
  • Dynamic, proactive, and client and team-oriented.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a client-focused mindset.
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and accounting software.
