Mauritius International Trust Company Limited (“MITCO” or the “Company”), which forms part of the finance cluster of the CIEL Group, is one of the oldest and well-established Management Companies in Mauritius and provides advisory, structuring, set-up, administering, company secretarial, compliance, professional outsourcing and back-office services to its clients.
MITCO is currently looking for seasoned Manager – Risk & Compliance.
Manager – Risk & Compliance
The Manager – Risk and Compliance ensures that the organization operates with integrity and accountability by adhering to all applicable national and international laws, industry regulations, professional standards and internal policies. This role safeguards the company’s ethical foundation while pragmatically managing compliance risks that could affect business performance.
What you will be doing:
- Assist in the review of the AML/CFT manual of MITCO entities;
- Facilitate the AML-CFT audit and ensure audit reports are received for the business in a timely manner;
- Monitor the remediation of findings and implement any recommendation resulting from the AML-CFT audit;
- Conduct Enhanced Due Diligence as appropriate and properly document the assessment;
- Assist in the endorsement of any remedial plan as appropriate following the Business Risk Assessment;
- Contribute to the yearly AML/CFT Offsite Monitoring Questionnaire for the cycle year and any adhoc surveys requested by the regulator;
- Assist in the file and transaction monitoring exercises;
- Contribute to the ARC and Board papers;
- Ensure that OGS clearing is done in a timely manner;
- Conduct independent sample verifications with respect to list of sanctions;
- Ensure that the PEP register is always updated and any EDD kept on record;
- Interact with various departments within the organization to ensure application of the AML/CFT policies and procedures;
- Escalate serious breaches of AML/CFT policy to the Senior Manager – Risk and Compliance;
- Act as the DMLRO for MITCO entities and Special Licensed structures administered by MITCO.
What are we looking for?
- Holder of a relevant degree (e.g., Management, Law, International Business, Finance);
- At least 8 years of working experience within the Finance Industry / the Global Business Sector; in addition, ACAMS certification would be desirable;
- Previous appointment as an approved Compliance Officer/MLRO would be desirable;
- Ongoing development of technical knowledge;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines;
- Be a team player.
