Job Summary
The main responsibility of this role is to support the bank’s network infrastructure, encompassing LAN, WAN, and security perimeter. The specialist will configure, install, and manage various network and security devices and platforms, including routers, switches, firewalls, IP telephony systems, server load balancers, WAFs, IPS, proxies, reverse-proxies, and logging and reporting servers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee the management and maintenance of the organisation’s network-based IT infrastructure, leveraging both internal and external resources.
• Design, implement, and oversee technologies and platforms that support the corporate IT enterprise, in collaboration with Business Application and Security Teams.
• Develop and implement IT architectures and systems aligned with modern cybersecurity standards and best practices.
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify areas for improvement.
• Assess technology use within system components and recommend actions to maintain compliance with established service levels and standards.
• Manage the provisioning and de-provisioning of user accounts and IT services effectively.
• Take full ownership of incident resolution, change management, and problem management processes.
• Collaborate with IT security and application development teams to meet IT infrastructure requirements.
• Manage vendor relationships to ensure the consistent delivery of high-quality IT infrastructure services.
• Maintain comprehensive documentation for managed systems, including architecture diagrams, flowcharts, standard operating procedures, backup strategies, and disaster recovery plans.
• Act as a secondary escalation point for infrastructure-related issues, driving them to resolution.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical challenges related to network systems.
• Serve as a liaison with third-party service providers, vendors, and contractors on IT system operations.
• Ensure the completion of all end-of-day and end-of-month activities, coordinating with relevant resources in case of incidents.
• Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring incidents, collaborating with suppliers and implementing corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Perform additional related tasks as needed.
Requirements:
• A Bachelor’s degree in Information and Communications Technologies, Computer Science or equivalent would be an advantage
• Industry Certifications in the Network & Security would be an advantage
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar position, preferably within the banking/financial sector, IT service providers, or system integrators.
• In-depth understanding of LAN/WAN infrastructure, including expertise with routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Proven experience in firewall management and network security.
• Familiarity with wireless network technologies and best practices for deployment.
• Proficiency in using network monitoring tools and performing network traffic analysis.
• Knowledge of VoIP, Quality of Service (QoS), and network performance optimisation.
• Experience with IT service management tools and familiarity with best practices like ITIL is advantageous.
• Background in working with technology service providers is preferred.
