Job description:
You will work closely with members of the global Client Accounting team on the provision of accounting services to a range of client entities of Governance Services (Jersey, Guernsey, UK and Cayman). The role will focus particularly on delivery of technically accurate accounts and periodic reports for a varied portfolio of clients (including, but not limited to, unit trusts, companies, partnerships and foundations) in accordance with agreed deadlines. The role includes client relationship management, mentoring and coaching of individuals in the accounting team and supporting global client administration colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
- Effectively manage the day to day activities of staff reporting to you, ensuring work is planned and allocated in order to meet client requirements including deadlines;
- Prepare and review accurate and timely financial statements under UK GAAP, IFRS and US GAAP, as required;
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly and semi-annual reports and net asset valuations;
- Ensure accurate and up to date accounting records are maintained in client entity databases (including Quickbooks, Viewpoint and Yardi);
- Ensure that you have a detailed understanding of the transactions you are dealing with and liaise with your line manager as required;
- Undertake complex accounting work with minimal supervision;
- Ensure client expectations and accounting deadlines are properly managed, multi-tasking a portfolio of work;
- Build trusted relationships with clients, auditors and third party service providers
- Provide information for and help manage the audit process for clients;
- Collaborate with client administration and other colleagues globally, providing explanations, advice and accounting support as and when required;
- Ensure consistency of accounting service levels across all clients and deal swiftly with any identified issues;
- Identify and recommend changes to working practices and documents to improve efficiency, quality of work and reduce time spent on tasks
- Be familiar with and act at all times in accordance with the firm’s policies and procedures;
- Show an awareness of the integration of Governance Services across jurisdictions and with the law firm, operating in a unified, consistent and co-ordinated manner;
- Maintain CPD levels required for your role & any professional bodies of which you are a member.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Qualified ACCA/ACA or qualified by relevant experience with good up to date technical accounting knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, including practical application
- Knowledge of US GAAP would be an advantage
- Previous experience of accounting systems, particularly Quickbooks and/or Viewpoint would be an advantage
- Good working knowledge of Excel
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- A positive and flexible approach
- An aptitude for data analysis/problem solving
- Ability to manage and prioritise tasks, time and people in order to meet deadlines
- Interpersonal skills
- Pro-active and service orientated approach

Senior Client Accountant
Job Description:
You will work closely with members of the Global Client Accounting team on the provision of accounting services to a range of client entities of Governance Services (Jersey, Guernsey, UK and Cayman) with particular emphasis on bookkeeping and maintenance of accurate accounting records to enable delivery of accurate accounts and periodic reports for a portfolio of clients in accordance with agreed deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure accurate and up to date accounting records are maintained in client entity databases (including Viewpoint. Quickbooks, Yardi);
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements including complex accounting work;
- Prepare periodic reports, capital account statements, net asset valuations, including equalisation adjustments, as required;
- Collaborate with client administration and other colleagues providing explanations, advice and accounting support as and when required
- Ensure consistency of accounting service levels across all clients and deal swiftly with any identified issues;
- Assist with management of the audit process on selected clients ensuring agreed deadlines are adhered to;
- Build trusted relationships with clients, auditors and third party service providers;
- Show an awareness of the integration of Governance Services across jurisdictions and also with the law firm, operating in a unified, consistent and co-ordinated manner.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

- Part qualified ACCA/ACA, currently studying or qualified by relevant experience with good up to date technical knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS, including practical application;
