Senior Associate Level 1, Financial Reporting

Key responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day financial reporting services to a portfolio of clients and structures, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures;
  • Preparation and review of financial statements in compliance with GAAP (IFRS, US GAAP, FRS 102 and LUX GAAP);
  • Preparation of accounting files, including checklists to support the effective review of the financial statements;
  • Work closely with the sending locations to ensure that accounting records are accurate and transactions and activity within the portfolio are understood and incorporated into the disclosures as appropriate;

Senior Tax Consultant

Role Location: Ebene, Mauritius

Department: Tax

Role & Key Responsibilities:

  • Review/File/Sign off of tax, PAYE, TDS and VAT computations and returns.
  • Coordinate internally to ensure timely filing of quarterly and annual tax returns for all clients of Sanne Mauritius.
  • Prepare and maintain the taxation processes.
  • Provide regular internal training sessions/tax updates sessions.
  • Provide technical support on tax matters to client service units based on established procedures.

  • Assist in drafting and submitting application for tax rulings.
  • Assist in drafting written representations to ARC.
  • Review changes in tax laws, analyse implications and arrange for implementation of same.
  • Responsible for operational aspects of Unit deliverables including effective management of the resources and activities.
  • Ensure high quality service delivery within Unit.
  • Oversee, review and monitor work done by the Unit members.
  • Review timesheets, identify, and take actions for spare capacity v/s overloaded staff.
  • Provide regular updates on all operational aspects of Unit deliverables to Unit Head.
  • Identifying training needs and communicate to Unit Head.
  • Mentoring and coaching of team members.
  • Assisting in a culture of continuous process improvement.
  • Show understanding of business & tax risks in the Global Business Sector (GBS) and approach day to day work with a risk minimisation mind-set.

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

The Accounting Manager will work on financial tasks to be executed for a portfolio of clients. He/she will be responsible for book-keeping and preparation of management accounts for Irish incorporated SPVs.

Competently carry out duties in a professional manner and in accordance with regulatory requirements, service levels and company standards so as to meet with business expectations, with the support of other members of the team, when required.

Accountabilities and main responsibilities:

  • Preparation and review of financial statements and annual reports where applicable of companies in accordance with IFRS, Companies Act and other relevant GAAP;
  • Preparation and review of managements accounts (monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, annual, ad-hoc) and liaise with the client services team/administrators in Ireland to ensure results are released in a timely manner;

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

  • Preparation of NAV reporting pack for funds (both Private Equity or Hedge Funds) based on frequency as required by Clients. Possibility of review as well.
  • Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual Account /Financial Statements and at such frequency as required by clients. Possibility of review as well.

The Role & Key Responsibilities:

The Associate Manager will be responsible for overseeing the accounting and financial reporting obligations of a portfolio including structures which invest into alternative assets, namely Private Equity, Real Estate and Debt. The Associate Manager will support the team, with a particular focus on the development and mentoring of the team members and providing quality and efficient services to all customers within the portfolio. Given the responsibilities outlined below, the candidate will be required to have significant experience and expertise.

Accountabilities and main responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the day-to-day management of a team of professionals to ensure the delivery of high quality and on time output to clients as per commitments, SLA, policies and procedures;
  • Work with the management team to ensure the planning, coordination and completion of NAVs, Management Reporting and Statutory Reporting of the structures and to ensure the team complies with all of its accounting and regulatory obligations;
  • Review bookkeeping; monthly, quarterly, annual NAV’s; Management accounts; interim and annual statutory financial statements;
  • Assist in the management of specialised services teams on all aspects of financial reporting, including working with Apex’s offices or clients to ensure their structures are run efficiently in compliance with the relevant laws and contractual obligations, and being involved with the management team to strategically expand the team;
  • Prepare and present reports, KPIs and Dashboards for management;
  • Manage risks, issues and complaints and escalate on time whenever required;
  • Ensure reporting complies with entity and statutory requirements including local law, relevant GAAP, including IFRS, US, UK, Luxembourg, Irish and other reporting principles;
  • Ensure that all day-to-day matters required to be completed are performed in a timely and satisfactory manner including monitoring tasks and delegating these across the relevant team;
  • Support the implementation of new processes;
  • Be able to provide sound, quality and technical guidance to team members;
  • Coach and guide team members on technical matters;
  • Mentor team members and help them grow to the next level;
  • Do staff appraisals and implement initiatives within team to keep staff engaged and motivated;
  • On the lookout for automation and process improvements;
  • Assist in implementing improvement ideas;
  • Stay up to date with Financial Reporting matters and deliver training or workshops to debrief to team; and

Skills Required:

  • Strong technical expertise and experience in drafting and reviewing management accounts and financial statements under IFRS and other GAAPS;
  • Up to date with IFRS and other GAAPs developments;
  • An understanding of regulatory and financial reporting regime;
  • Ability to manipulate large amounts of data and strong Excel and data analytical skills with the ability to create and analyze dashboards, reports, spreadsheets and other statistics;

The Financial Crime Prevention function is responsible to prevent, detect and respond to compliance, regulatory and ML/TF risks faced by Clients of IQ EQ Shared Services ltd, in line with the relevant AML/CFT Framework. The job holder will have to carry out file review and all other due diligence necessary for client on boarding and assist with the design of the KYC Framework. They will also provide assistance in tax compliance (FATCA and CRS) and other financial crime prevention requirement to clients based in multi jurisdictions. They will ensure protections of information assets of IQ EQ Shared Services Ltd and abide by the ISMS in place at IQ EQ Shared Services Ltd.

Tasks

  • KYC review on entities based in multi jurisdiction, such as UK, Cayman Islands, Curacao, Singapore, BVI, Luxembourg and Jersey;
  • To provide assistance in FATCA and CRS compliance for client based in multi jurisdiction, such as Netherlands, Cayman Islands, Singapore, BVI, Luxembourg and Jersey
  • Liaising with business department with regards to KYC requirements for client/investor on boarding -Maintaining KYC Documents on a secured database -File Review ( including world –check and sanction list screening);
  • Attend AML/CFT queries from Clients in a timely manner and also attend calls of Clients with regards to on-going review, status of projects and new assignments;
  • Provide report with gap analysis and propose remedial actions for validation -Drafting of Key operating procedures for new clients and KOPs update. -Carrying out Due Diligence on client accounts;
  • Acquiring valuable insight into different entities when using research tools to conduct background checks on different entities;
  • Check all accounts according to KYC principles and ensure that the account parameters and data have been correctly set on the core systems. -Verify presence and adequacy of documents required from KYC perspective for a clients to maintain accounts;
  • Analyze account opening documents with a view to identify any inconsistencies in the information provided and engage frontline or originating business partners to seek assurance on the nature of the client being on-boarded;
  • To provide support in identifying, analyzing and disseminating the latest global regulatory information;
  • Consolidation and reporting of stats on a quarterly
  • To ensure protection of information assets of IQEQ MAU and to abide by the ISMS in place at IQEQ MAU.

Qualifications

Education / professional qualifications:

  • Degree holder in law or any other relevant field

Background Experience

  • 4+ years’ experience

Technical

  • Experience in compliance and risk.

Computer / Program Knowledge

  • Competent at the basic level of MS Office Word and Excel
