Revenue Financial Accountant

Purpose of the Job:

Ocorian is building an FP&A team out of Mauritius to support its business worldwide. The team is led by the FP&A Manager who reports into the Regional Finance Director, also based in Mauritius. The main objective is to create, deploy, and run standard planning and reporting processes across all departments and service lines.

This role will own a specific set of Financial Planning and Reporting tasks for one or several departments, in coordination with the Finance Business Partner in charge of that department and the wider Finance community. The person will be in direct contact with the operations and senior people across multiple locations & time zones.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for revenue month-end tasks, ensuring our top line is accurate and collating the commentaries from the business.
  • Run the financial planning processes (Budget & Rolling Forecast) for revenues, direct costs, and overheads for a specific number of departments.
  • Support the Finance Business Partners to prepare the monthly business reviews and budget packs.
  • Continuous process and systems improvements to maximize accuracy and productivity.
  • Requires close coordination & alignment with accounting, as well as non-financial functions.
  • Perform various other financial analysis (costs, working capital, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent professional qualifications

Senior Finance Administrator-Financial Control

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Ocorian is building a Financial Control team out of Mauritius to support its accounting teams worldwide. The team is led by a Senior Manager and reports into the Regional Finance Director, also based in Mauritius. The main objective is to create, deploy, and run standard financial controls & processes across our jurisdictions.

The Senior Finance Administrator is responsible for some financial controls & processes for several jurisdictions.

Main Responsibilities:

Financial Operations

–         Book periodic journal entries including payroll, tax and provisions

–         Participate in the month end close process and ensure completion within the prescribed deadlines

–         Preparation and review of management accounts

–         Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are completed on a timely basis for all balances in all entities

–         Proactively identify, propose and implement process improvement and automations

–         Assist in ad-hoc tasks and projects

Financial control, tax and treasury

–         Support in ensuring the financial control environment is appropriate and controls are operating as intended

–         Support in preparing statutory accounts, tax returns and other filings

–         Assist on local and Group audits as appropriate

–         Support with various other reports & regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance with all Group accounting policies and IFRS

People

–         Provide support and training to finance administrators

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

–         Partly ACCA qualified accountant or equivalent, with at least 5 years’ experience, ideally in an internal finance function

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

–         Ability to prepare management accounts and statutory financial statements as per IFRS

–         Ability to prepare and file tax computation and VAT computation

–         Experience of working with external auditors. Previous audit experience preferred

–         Good knowledge and understanding of IFRS

–         Solid ERP knowledge (preferably NavOne). Knowledge in Caseware is a plus

–         Previous experience in a multi-jurisdictional environment would be preferable.

Payroll & HR Administrator

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Working with an outsourced payroll provider in the main ensuring all payments are accurate and on time and that appropriate and accurate information is provided to management, tax authorities, pension providers and other external bodies, whilst supporting employee lifecycle activities.  Flexibility of working hours will be required as this role will be based in Mauritius and will support payrolls across different time zones, mainly Channel Islands and the Isle of Man.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Working with our outsourced payroll service provider to deliver a timely, accurate payroll service, ensuring BACS payments are made and monthly payments to HMRC, pension providers and other external bodies are processed.
  • Uploading data onto payroll systems in geographies where payroll is in-house.
  • Ensure monthly payroll amendments including starters, leavers, contract changes, tax code changes, overtime payments etc. are implemented.
  • Process transactions relating to salary sacrifice schemes, maternity and paternity leave, loans and other relevant schemes.
  • Conduct regular checks to ensure the integrity of the payroll, identifying, investigating and resolving discrepancies in payroll records.
  • Provide information to auditors as required.
  • Ensure staff benefits are processed and managed.
  • Complete payroll and benefits management reports, monthly payroll / tax authority reports and relevant returns, year- end returns, pension returns etc.
  • Deal with enquires from employees and management as they arise ensuring a timely and accurate response.
  • Administer employee life cycle end to end process activities.
  • Support the HR Team with any other appropriate duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
  • Minimum of one year’s experience in a Payroll administrative role.
  • HR Administration experience would be an advantage, however, willingness to work across the spectrum of HR lifecycle processes is essential.
  • Highly numerate with a systematic approach to problem solving and strong attention to detail.

Fund Accountant

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for the planning and preparation of financial reports for a portfolio of funds, ensuring reporting deadlines are met and the delivery of client accounting requirements are in compliance with Ocorian’s contractual obligations

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop an understanding of all entities within the fund structure, the nature of their transactions and reporting requirements.
  • Develop and maintain a process to ensure the timely delivery of client accounting requirements in relation to financial reports and accounts for all entities in allocated portfolio.

Main Responsibilities:

Ensuring world class client service delivery

Senior Officer-Client Accounting ( AFRS)

Purpose of the Job:

To provide support and assistance to the Directors, Managers and Administrators in connection to the services provided by Ocorian. This will involve:

– Managing the preparation of clients’ financial statements, tax returns and any other financial reports as may be required.

– Ensuring smooth running of the operation through the supervision of team other team members

Main Responsibilities:

– Take responsibility for an allocated portfolio of clients.

– Ensure overall quality of bookkeeping, financial statements, management accounts and other financial reports are up to required standards     at all times.

– Liaise with clients to ensure efficient delivery of output and client service expectations.

– Review bank and any other reconciliation.

– Review VAT, TDS returns and Tax Computations for clients as prepared by Senior Accountants / Accountants / Assistant Accountants / Junior     Accountants.

– Ensure that financial statements, tax returns and other statutory returns are filed within deadlines.

– Review the work of, provide guidance and constructive feedback to Accountants / Assistant Accountants/ Junior Accountants.

– Liaise with the Auditors and administrators to complete the audit of financial statements in accordance with defined timetables.

To accurately process accounting records and be trained to prepare simple financial statements and management accounts in accordance with the designated accounting framework(s).

–          Prepare and post final bookkeeping entries required for producing financial statements and management accounts

–          Prepare and post accounts payables and receivables, loans and bank transactions for the portfolio of clients assigned to the team

–          Creation or amendments of any cards for suppliers or loans.

–          Perform bank, investment and any other reconciliations

–          Provide additional bookkeeping and accounting support to Client Accounting staff and assist with ad-hoc projects as may be required               from time to time

–          Provide accounting service to clients in various jurisdictions within the Ocorian Group.

The ideal candidate should have at least 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role and a good understanding of Trust and Company Administration.  The successful candidate must be willing to travel daily to the Oak office located at Uniciti, Cascavelle.
